What makes Ilmberger Carbon special?
Ilmberger combines high-quality carbon with extensive manufacturing experience to produce parts with an excellent surface finish. Its carbon components are manufactured in an autoclave using prepreg carbon fabric. The material is laid into precision-machined aluminium moulds and then enclosed in vacuum bags.
The parts remain under vacuum while being subjected to additional external pressure during several hours of curing in the autoclave. The temperature is adjusted throughout the cycle to suit the material being processed. After curing, the parts are removed from their moulds, then trimmed and finished using a waterjet cutter or a five-axis milling machine. Finally, they receive a clear plastic coating.
