Sealing Kits – Protect SAE Connections from Dirt and Moisture
Keep unused and connected charging connectors clean and better protected
A fixed SAE connection on your motorcycle is convenient for connecting a battery charger or electrical accessory. However, when the connector is not in use, it can be exposed to road dirt, dust, and moisture. With a suitable sealing kit, you protect both the loose cable end and a connected plug connection.
- Protects an SAE connector when not in use
- Helps keep dirt and moisture away from the electrical contacts
- Suitable for fixed battery cables and accessory connections
- Compact and easy to fit on the existing connector
- Extends the practical usability of charging cables and adapters
In this collection, you will find the OptiMate SAE sealing kit with an inline seal and a protective cap. The protective cap is used when the cable end remains loose on the motorcycle. The inline seal is placed around a connected SAE connection to better shield the connection.
A small addition that helps prevent malfunctions
Dirt or corrosion on the contacts can lead to a poor connection, voltage loss, or a battery charger that does not correctly recognize the battery. By sealing the connector when it is not in use, the contact surfaces stay cleaner longer.
Nevertheless, always place the connection in the driest and most sheltered spot possible. A protective cap is intended as extra protection and does not automatically make a poorly placed connector suitable for prolonged immersion or direct high-pressure cleaning.
Check the connection regularly
Inspect the SAE connector during maintenance for dirt, damage, and corrosion. If necessary, carefully clean the contacts and check that the protective cap still fits securely. Replace damaged seals before moisture can freely reach the electrical contacts.
