Replace the original spring plate of the wet clutch with a CNC-machined aluminum version
The spring plate is part of the clutch mechanism and works together with the clutch springs and pressure plate. For selected Ducati models, the original part can be replaced by a model-specific CNC Racing version with a precise fit and Anodised color finish.
In this collection, you will find various CNC Racing spring plates for Ducati engine blocks. The shape and dimensions are tailored to the existing clutch and must therefore be selected based on the exact model and year of manufacture.
A spring plate should not be confused with the clutch pressure plate. Both parts work together but have different shapes, positions, and functions within the clutch.
In a wet clutch, the plate pack and various clutch components rotate in engine oil. The spring plate holds the clutch springs in the intended position and forms a visible part of the assembly around the pressure plate.
Use only a version developed for the specific clutch housing and springs present.
CNC Racing manufactures the spring plate from solid aluminum. The computer-controlled machining allows the recesses, mounting points, and contact surfaces to be formed precisely.
The Anodised finish gives the part color and protects the aluminum surface against normal wear and tear.
When mounted behind a closed original clutch cover, the spring plate is only partially visible. In combination with a suitable transparent cover, the colored CNC part becomes a distinct element of the engine block finish.
Check that the chosen spring plate, pressure plate, and transparent cover are developed for the same Ducati model and clutch.
The spring plate does not automatically include new clutch plates, springs, pressure plate, or clutch cover. Check the scope of delivery when replacing multiple parts simultaneously.
A colored spring plate by itself does not change the friction characteristics of the clutch plate pack.
When disassembling, pay attention to the position of springs, rings, bolts, and pressure plate. Assemble all parts in the order prescribed by Ducati and CNC Racing.
Tighten the spring bolts evenly and in a cross pattern. Over-tightening can damage threads or aluminum parts.
