Battery Cables – Quick and Safe Connection to Your Motorcycle Battery

Turn a hard-to-reach motorcycle battery into a convenient fixed connection

In many modern motorcycles, the battery is mostly hidden under the seat, tank, or a side panel. Dismantling parts every time to connect a battery charger is unnecessarily cumbersome. With a fixed battery cable, you create an easily accessible connection that allows you to quickly charge, maintain, or check the battery.

  • Permanent connection directly to the battery terminals
  • Quickly connect a battery charger without dismantling
  • Choice of various ring terminals and connectors
  • Suitable for motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, and other vehicles
  • Available versions with fuse or battery monitor

A battery cable is usually mounted directly under the bolts of the positive and negative terminals using ring terminals. The connector then remains in an accessible and protected spot on the motorcycle. This way, you only need to connect the battery charger when the motorcycle is stationary for a longer period or when the battery requires maintenance.

Pay Attention to the Connection and Size of the Ring Terminals

Not every battery cable is the same. Therefore, check which type of connection your battery charger uses. Many modern charging and maintenance systems work with an SAE connector, while older systems may have a TM/KET connection, for example. The diameter of the ring terminals is also important. Motorcycle batteries often use M6 connections, while larger batteries may have M8 or M10 fittings.

Besides standard charging cables, there are versions for heavier applications, extension cables, and models with an integrated voltage monitor. Depending on the product, you can immediately see whether the battery still has sufficient voltage. Other cables are designed to power heated clothing or electrical accessories directly from the battery.

Correct and Safe Installation

Mount the red cable on the positive terminal and the black cable on the negative terminal. Check that the ring terminals sit flush and that the cable does not run along hot, sharp, or moving parts. The connector must remain accessible but must not hang loose while riding.

Always check the maximum allowable current rating of the cable. A connection for a battery charger or light accessory is not automatically suitable as a starter cable or for accessories with high power consumption.
