Oil Additives and Internal Engine Cleaners
Use a specialized product for internal cleaning or additional treatment of the oil system
Oil Additives are added to the lubrication system for a specific treatment. One type is designed to loosen old deposits shortly before an oil change, while another product remains in the engine block together with the new motor oil for a longer period. These two applications must be clearly distinguished.
- Internal engine cleaners for use before the oil change
- Additives mixed with suitable motor oil
- Compact packaging for a complete treatment
- Developed for use in the engine lubrication system
- Maintenance products from Xeramic
In this collection, you will find, among others, Xeramic Moto Engine Flush and Xeramic Ceramic Engine Protector. An engine flush is added to the old oil and allows the engine block to run for a short, prescribed period. Afterward, the oil and filter are replaced.
An engine oil additive remains in the engine block together with the new oil. Therefore, always check the instructions, mixing ratio, and compatibility before adding the product.
Engine flush before the oil change
An internal engine cleaner is intended to loosen deposits and buildup in the lubrication system. The product is added to the warm old oil shortly before the scheduled oil change.
Run the engine only for the prescribed time and under the specified conditions. Do not drive the engine if the instructions specify idling only. Then completely drain the old oil and install a new oil filter.
Additive with the new motor oil
An oil additive is added to fresh motor oil according to the indicated dosage. Take into account the total oil capacity. If you first fill the full normal amount of oil and then add the additive, the level may exceed the maximum.
Therefore, reduce the amount of motor oil if necessary by the volume of the additive and check the level according to the engine-specific procedure.
Check the wet clutch
In many motorcycles, the clutch and gearbox run in the same oil as the engine block. An additive that changes the friction properties can therefore affect the operation of a wet clutch.
Use only products explicitly suitable for your engine and clutch system. The specification of the prescribed motor oil remains decisive. An additive does not replace timely oil changes, technical inspections, or repairs of mechanical wear.
