Cover the opening in front of the rear sprocket with a model-specific carbon shark fin
A toe guard, also called a toe guard or shark fin, is mounted on the underside of the rear swingarm in front of the rear sprocket. This part reduces the open space towards the chain and sprocket and is especially known from the racing circuit world. Additionally, the carbon version gives the rear swingarm a distinct Racing look.
In this collection, you will find toe guards for selected sport and naked bikes. Depending on the product, it is either a standalone carbon guard or a complete set combining the toe guard with GP-style paddock stand plates.
The chain and rear sprocket are moving parts. The toe guard fills part of the open space beneath the sprocket and forms a fixed shield there.
This part does not replace a chain guard on the top side and does not cover the entire chain drive. Always check which area is covered by the chosen product.
A standalone toe guard only has the shark-fin function. Combined Evotech sets also include paddock stand plates that allow the use of a suitable GP-style rear paddock stand.
Check the scope of delivery carefully. The paddock stand itself is not included and must be technically compatible with the plate system used.
The shape of the rear swingarm and available attachment points vary by motorcycle and year of manufacture. Therefore, only choose a version developed for your exact model.
Use all supplied spacers and mounting materials. The toe guard must not touch the chain, rear sprocket, tire, or rear wheel.
After installation, check the chain clearance over a full wheel rotation. Also, consider the movement of the rear swingarm during suspension travel.
Regularly inspect the carbon and fastenings and replace the part if it is visibly damaged after a fall, transport incident, or contact.
