A carburetor Jet Kit should not be confused with an EJK Electronic Jet Kit. A FactoryPro Jet Kit contains physical parts for carburetors. An EJK module is an electronic piggyback system for engines with fuel injection.

Choosing Stage 1 or Stage 3

A Stage 1 kit is generally intended for an engine with a largely original air filter box and a standard or lightly modified exhaust. However, the exact application varies per engine-specific set and should always be checked based on the product information.

A Stage 3 kit is developed for further modified air intake systems. The collection includes versions combined with a different air filter. Such a configuration requires a different fuel adjustment than a fully closed original air filter box.

Adjustment is more than just installing parts

A Jet Kit contains components to adjust the carburetor, but the final setting depends on the engine. Exhaust, air filter, altitude, engine condition, and even temperature can affect the required adjustment.

After installation, idle behavior, throttle response, and operation under load must be checked. Synchronization of multiple carburetors is also important for smooth engine running.

Installation and checking the fuel mixture

For installation, the carburetors usually need to be removed or partially disassembled. Work cleanly and prevent dirt from entering fuel channels or jet openings. Use appropriate tools, as brass jets are relatively easy to damage.

The most reliable check is a measurement of the fuel mixture under load. A lean mixture can lead to high temperatures and poor throttle response, while a rich mixture can cause rough running, fouling, and higher fuel consumption. Have installation and adjustment performed by a specialist if you lack sufficient carburetor experience.
