Chain Tensioners for Precise and Even Adjustment
Adjust the chain slack carefully and keep the rear wheel properly aligned left and right
The correct chain slack is important for smooth power transmission and normal operation of the rear suspension. With a high-quality chain tensioner, you can accurately move the rear wheel forward or backward and better control the adjustment on both sides.
- Model-specific fit in the original swingarm
- More precise adjustment of chain slack and wheel position
- Clear scale markings on selected versions
- CNC-machined aluminum with anodized finish
- Available in various sporty colors
In this collection, you will find chain tensioners from brands such as Lightech and CNC Racing. Depending on the motorcycle, it involves a set that replaces the original adjuster blocks or a complete system with adjustment knobs, scale markings, and additional mounting options.
Various Lightech versions are made from Ergal7075 aluminum and feature a laser-engraved metric scale. On selected sets, each click of the adjustment knob corresponds to a movement of 0.25 mm. These features vary per product and should always be checked on the product page.
Accurate Chain Slack and Wheel Alignment
A chain that is too loose can slap, react unpredictably to throttle changes, and contact surrounding parts. A chain that is too tight unnecessarily stresses the output shaft, wheel bearings, and rear suspension.
Therefore, chain slack must be set according to the motorcycle manufacturer's specifications. Measure at the indicated position and take into account load and the movement of the swingarm.
Scale Markings as a Guide
A clear scale or click adjustment makes it easier to set the same movement on the left and right sides. This helps align the rear wheel straight and makes small corrections more reproducible.
Use the markings as a practical aid, but if in doubt, check the actual alignment. Production tolerances or previous damage to the swingarm may mean relying solely on the scale is not sufficient.
Check Version and Possible Paddock Stand Options
Some chain tensioners can be combined with separate lifter brackets or paddock stand adapters. These accessories are not automatically included and must be compatible with the specific chain tensioner set.
Before ordering, check the exact motorcycle model, year of manufacture, and swingarm construction. Install the rear axle and locking nuts with the prescribed tightening torque. After tightening, recheck the chain slack, as it may change slightly during tightening.
