Frame Plugs for a Sleek and Fully Finished Motorcycle Frame
Neatly cover visible openings in the frame with model-specific aluminum frame plugs
Open holes, bolt heads, and structural cutouts are a normal part of a motorcycle frame but don’t always contribute to a polished appearance. With a set of frame plugs, also called frame caps or frame plugs, you can neatly finish these openings. The result is a cleaner and more complete look, with subtle color accents that nicely match other CNC-machined parts.
- Neatly covers visible openings in the motorcycle frame
- Model-specific shape for a perfect fit
- CNC-machined from high-quality aluminum
- Anodized finish available in various colors
- Available as sets for multiple frame openings
This collection mainly features frame plug sets from CNC Racing. Depending on the motorcycle model, a set consists of two, four, five, six, or more plugs. This way, only the openings visible on the specific frame construction are covered. Some models use different diameters within one set, while others require separate frame plugs for the upper, front, or rear openings.
The plugs are available in colors such as black, red, and gold. Selected older versions may also come in other colors. Black provides a subtle, almost original look. Red or gold turns the frame openings into a visible detail that pairs well with other anodized parts.
Small Parts with a Clear Visual Impact
Frame plugs are primarily an aesthetic upgrade. They do not change the frame’s construction or stiffness but make large openings and visible fasteners less noticeable. This makes the middle section of the motorcycle look cleaner and more finely finished.
Additionally, a frame plug partially shields the opening from dust, splash water, and road dirt. However, the degree of sealing varies by design. A frame plug should not automatically be considered a fully waterproof closure.
Check Which Frame Openings Are Covered
Not every set covers all visible frame holes of a motorcycle. Some models offer separate sets for different positions. Always check the number of plugs, mounting position, and included components of the chosen product.
Also select the exact motorcycle model, version, and year of manufacture. Similarly shaped frames can still have different diameters, depths, or mounting options. A frame plug that fits loosely in the opening or must be forced in is not the correct version.
Simple but Careful Installation
Installation is relatively simple for many versions. The plug is placed in the corresponding opening and then secured with the central bolt. This clamps the underlying mounting part firmly into the frame.
Tighten the bolt evenly and do not use more force than necessary. Over-tightening can damage the plug, the clamping system, or the anodized finish. After the first ride, check that all frame plugs are still firmly and correctly in place.
