Lightweight subframes for model-specific motorcycle builds
Replace the original rear frame section with a construction specifically developed for the desired seat and tail section build
The subframe forms the load-bearing rear part of the motorcycle. It is where the seat, rear tail, electronics, and various mounting parts are attached. For selected motorcycle projects, a custom subframe can be used to enable a specific monoposto setup or to replace a damaged original part.
- Model-specific construction for selected motorcycles
- Lightweight aluminum design
- Developed for a specific monoposto setup
- Untreated aluminum finish
- Option to have the part coated as desired
This collection features specialized subframes for motorcycle projects where the original rear frame section is not retained. The aluminum subframe provided is developed for selected Ducati Hypermotard models and intended exclusively for a monoposto configuration.
A complete subframe should not be confused with a subframe cover. A cover is a non-load-bearing finishing part, whereas the subframe actually supports weight and loads from the seat and rear section.
Load-bearing part of the rear section
The subframe carries the rider’s weight and supports various motorcycle components. Depending on the design, the battery box, ECU, taillight, and license plate holder may also be attached to the subframe.
An aftermarket subframe must therefore fit exactly onto the original main frame connections. Do not drill or grind load-bearing parts unless explicitly instructed in the installation manual.
Monoposto means single seat
A subframe for monoposto use is designed for a motorcycle with a single seat. The part is not automatically calculated or equipped for a passenger seat, passenger footpegs, or luggage system.
Do not install passenger provisions if the subframe is not explicitly developed for them. Also check that the chosen rear tail and seat belong to the same monoposto setup.
Untreated aluminum and surface finish
An untreated aluminum subframe has a technical, industrial look. The surface may discolor or develop signs of use over time.
Those who want a different appearance or additional surface protection can have the part powder coated or finished appropriately. Keep in mind fit and threads: mounting surfaces and threaded holes must not be affected by an excessively thick coating.
Compatibility of all attached parts
Before installation, check which original parts can be transferred. Consider seat locks, battery holder, cable guides, taillight, fairing supports, and license plate holder.
A different exhaust, rear tail, or electrical layout may require additional mounting parts. Lay out the entire build beforehand to identify any missing components in time.
Professional installation recommended
Support the motorcycle properly before removing the original subframe and mark all connectors and cable routes. Use the prescribed bolts and torque settings when connecting to the main frame.
Because this is a load-bearing frame part, we recommend having the installation and final inspection performed by an experienced specialist.
