Carbon air filter boxes

Replace the original airbox with a model-specific technical solution for specialized Ducati projects

The air filter box, also called an airbox, collects and distributes the drawn-in air before it reaches the engine block via the throttle bodies or carburetors. The volume, shape, and connection of the airbox affect the airflow and therefore form an important part of a technically built engine.

  • Complete model-specific air filter boxes for selected Ducati models
  • Carbon constructions from Edo Vigna Racing
  • Developed as a replacement for the original airbox
  • Depending on the kit, combined with filters and velocity stacks
  • Suitable for specialized performance and overhaul projects

In this collection, you will find carbon air filter boxes and airbox kits from EVR. These products must be clearly distinguished from an air filter box cover. A cover mainly changes the visible exterior, while a complete air filter box actually forms part of the intake system.

For selected Ducati models, EVR uses a larger or differently shaped airbox to increase the available space for the drawn-in air. The exact construction and volume vary per engine block and product.

The airbox as part of the complete intake system

An air filter box works together with the air intakes, air filters, velocity stacks, throttle bodies, and engine management. Replacing just one component can change the airflow and resonance in the system.

A larger airbox therefore does not automatically provide the same power gain under all conditions. The result depends on the engine configuration, exhaust, camshafts, compression, and final fuel tuning.

Maintaining filter protection

A complete airbox encloses the air intake and allows suitable filters to be used in the system. This offers more protection against dirt and water than fully open intake trumpets without a sealed filter construction.

Always check which air filters and velocity stacks are included with the kit and which parts must be ordered separately. Do not use the engine without a technically appropriate filter solution.

Mapping and tuning

When the volume and airflow of the airbox are changed, the amount of drawn-in air can also change. This may require adjustment of the injection or carburetor settings.

Preferably have a modified engine checked on a test bench. This allows the air-fuel ratio to be measured and safely tuned under different RPMs and loads.

Specialist installation

Replacing the air filter box usually requires removing the tank, fairing parts, and multiple intake components. Connections to throttle bodies or carburetors must seal completely, and cables and lines must be correctly reinstalled.

Check the exact engine model, engine block, and year of manufacture, and if in doubt, have a complete airbox kit installed by a specialist experienced with Ducati engine blocks and performance intake systems.
