dB Killers for More Control Over Exhaust Sound
Adjust the sound level of your sport exhaust with a suitable dB Killer for your silencer
A sport exhaust often gives a motorcycle a deeper and more pronounced sound. However, in some situations, the noise can be louder than desired, for example during longer rides, track days with sound limits, or when a previously installed dB Killer is lost or damaged. In this collection, you will find individual dB Killers and exhaust inserts for various brands and silencer types.
- Helps limit the sound level of a suitable sport exhaust
- Replacement inserts for lost or damaged dB Killers
- Choice of standard, Racing, and model-specific versions
- Various diameters and mounting systems available
- dB Killers from brands including G&G Bike, HP Corse, Competition Werkes, and CNC Racing
A dB Killer is mounted in or at the outlet of the exhaust silencer and affects the flow of exhaust gases and sound waves. The degree of sound reduction varies depending on the design, diameter, length, and exhaust construction. A more closed standard version generally reduces sound more than a more open Racing insert.
The collection includes both brand-specific and model-specific dB Killers. For example, there are individual inserts for G&G Bike exhausts, various diameters for Competition Werkes and HP Corse silencers, and sets developed for a specific Termignoni exhaust construction.
Standard or Racing dB Killer
A standard dB Killer is intended for riders who want to reduce exhaust noise as much as possible within the capabilities of the silencer. A Racing dB Killer usually has a more open design, offering a compromise between noise reduction, exhaust flow, and a sporty sound.
Which version fits best depends on the type of exhaust and the intended use. A more open insert does not automatically mean it is suitable or allowed for every situation. Always check the product information and the regulations of the location or event where you ride.
Diameter and Mounting Must Be Exact
dB Killers are not universal. A difference of a few millimeters in outlet diameter can mean an insert does not fit or cannot be safely mounted. Therefore, check the exhaust brand, the exact silencer model, the inner diameter of the outlet, and the mounting system used.
Some inserts are secured with one bolt, while others use multiple mounting points or a model-specific construction. If your motorcycle has two separate silencers, two dB Killers may be needed.
Sound Reduction Is Not the Same as Homologation
Installing an individual dB Killer does not automatically make a non-homologated exhaust approved for road use. Approval applies to the complete exhaust configuration with which the system was tested. Always check the product page of both the exhaust and the dB Killer.
Install the insert only with the prescribed mounting hardware and regularly check that it is still securely fastened. A loose dB Killer can damage the silencer or fall out of the exhaust while riding.
