Exhaust Headers

Exhaust Headers and Front Header Sets for Motorcycles

Replace worn, damaged, or modified exhaust pipes with a header set that fits the engine block, collector, and muffler

The exhaust headers carry hot exhaust gases from the cylinder heads towards the collector, catalytic converter, and muffler. Shape, diameter, and length are tailored to the engine block and determine whether all cylinders properly connect to the rest of the exhaust system.

  • Model-specific exhaust headers and intermediate pipes
  • Stainless steel constructions for selected G&G Bike systems
  • Complete front header sets and 3/4 systems
  • Parts for repair and modification of the exhaust
  • Compatible with matching mufflers and mounting parts

This collection includes various types of exhaust headers. A complete front header set runs from the cylinder heads to the collector. A 3/4 header set uses part of the existing front pipes and only replaces the section leading to the muffler.

Complete Header Set or 3/4 System

Carefully check where the new headers start and end. In a 3/4 system, the short headers at the cylinders remain, and the rear piping is replaced.

A muffler is not automatically included. Therefore, read which existing or separately available muffler fits the new header set.

Diameter and Connection

The outer diameter of the headers and inner diameter of the connections must match the collector, link pipe, and muffler. The position of spring hooks, clamps, and supports must also be correct.

Do not use improvised adapters if this causes leaks, stress, or insufficient clearance.

Catalytic Converter and Lambda Sensors

Modern header sets may include connections for lambda sensors and possibly a catalytic converter. Check the number of sensors, thread size, and position in the system.

A header set without the original catalytic converter can affect emissions, error messages, noise, and legal use on public roads. Verify the product-specific status before installation.

ECU Tuning After Major Changes

A different header diameter, collector, or removed catalytic converter can alter gas flow more significantly than just a different muffler. This may require checking or adjusting the fuel mapping.

Follow the exhaust manufacturer's recommendations and have the engine professionally measured and tuned if necessary.

Stress-Free Installation

Use new exhaust gaskets where prescribed. First loosely fit all parts and align the complete route before tightening flanges, clamps, and supports definitively.

Check the clearance to the oil pan, coolant hoses, brake pedal, rear swingarm, and fairing. After the first ride, inspect all connections for leaks and looseness.
