Replace the standard ignition lock with a model-specific carbon part
The ignition lock area is located centrally in the cockpit and is visible every time you get on the motorcycle. Yet, this section is often finished with simple black plastic from the factory. With a carbon ignition lock cover, you give this prominent area a sportier and more exclusive look.
In this collection, you will find carbon ignition lock covers for various Ducati models. The shape of the ignition lock, tank cover, and upper triple clamp varies by motorcycle series and year of manufacture. Therefore, these covers are not universal parts but specifically designed for the respective motorcycle.
The collection includes versions from CNC Racing and Ilmberger CarbonParts. Depending on the product, the original plastic cover is either completely replaced or an additional carbon part is placed around the ignition lock. Always check the product description and installation method.
An ignition lock cover is primarily an aesthetic upgrade. The part does not change the function or security of the ignition lock but does provide a clearly higher-quality finished area around the key or start control.
The upgrade is especially effective when the motorcycle is already equipped with other carbon parts, such as a tank cover, dashboard cover, frame cover, or fairing parts. Choosing the same carbon pattern and finish creates a calm and cohesive whole.
For Ducati models, the Ilmberger CarbonParts versions match the look of Ducati Performance carbon in terms of pattern and finish. Check whether the chosen version has a matte or glossy finish.
Not every ignition lock cover is mounted the same way. Some versions replace the original part one-to-one and use the existing mounting points and bolts. Other covers are installed as an additional finishing part.
Check in advance which parts need to be removed and whether mounting hardware is included or reused. Never force a carbon part into place. A model-specific cover must fit around the ignition lock and surrounding parts without tension.
Even within the same Ducati model range, the shape of the tank area and ignition lock can change. Always select the exact model, version, and year of manufacture. For example, a cover for a Monster 821 does not automatically fit a Monster 1200 or a later model.
During installation, protect the tank and upper triple clamp from tools. Tighten fasteners evenly and use only the prescribed torque. This prevents damage to the carbon or stress around the mounting points.
