Wheels are among the most important rotating and unsprung parts of a vehicle. A lower wheel weight not only needs to be set in motion during acceleration but also must be braked and change direction with every steering and suspension movement. As a result, a lighter wheel set can clearly influence the overall driving behavior.
This collection includes complete BST wheel sets. For motorcycles, a set usually consists of a front and rear wheel. Sets for cars, pickups, and off-road vehicles consist of four wheels, possibly with different sizes for the front and rear axles.
Weight savings in the wheels have a different impact than removing the same weight from a static body part. The wheel rotates and moves with the suspension.
A lighter wheel set can therefore contribute to quicker steering, easier direction changes, more responsive acceleration, and lower load during braking. The suspension also has less mass to control.
BST manufactures the structural wheel construction from prepreg carbon. The fibers and resin are built up in precisely defined layers and cured under pressure and temperature in an autoclave.
The monocoque construction forms the rim bed and spokes as one integrated carbon unit. Production takes place within a controlled quality system, and each wheel is developed for the specific load and application.
Various designs are available for motorcycles, including Mamba TEK, Rapid TEK, and Star TEK. The right set is determined by wheel sizes, brake discs, ABS ring, rear wheel construction, chain line, and motorcycle model.
Depending on the version, ceramic bearings and a suitable SuperSprox rear sprocket can be chosen as additional upgrades. Check which brake disc bolts, sprocket carrier, and spacers are included.
GT TEK is developed for performance cars and electric vehicles. The front and rear axles can use different widths and offsets.
Tuff TEK focuses on pickups and 4x4s. Here, besides weight, load capacity, bolt pattern, hub diameter, offset, and TPMS compatibility are important. Some applications use a model-specific adapter or spacer set.
The wheels can be ordered depending on the product line in woven Twill carbon or a marbled Forged carbon structure. Additionally, glossy, matte, and satin finishes are available.
The colored variants are not anodized finishes. The visible carbon structure remains preserved because a color tint is added to the clear coat.
Always check wheel size, offset, bolt pattern, center bore diameter, axle construction, brake clearance, and load capacity. Installation must be carried out with suitable tires, sensors, and fastening materials.
BST wheels may have DOT E and JWL approvals depending on the product and are tested according to specified TÜV standards. This does not automatically mean that every set has a TÜV, ABE, or E approval for European road use. Check the product documentation and local requirements for your specific application.
