Carbon Fuel Tanks and Complete Fuel Tank Sets for Motorcycles

Replace the complete original Fuel Tank with a model-specific carbon version for less weight, more capacity, or an exclusive finish

A complete Fuel Tank is a technical and structural part of the motorcycle. Besides storing fuel, the Fuel Tank often serves as the base for the fuel cap, fuel pump, level sensor, side panels, and various mounting points. In this collection, you will find complete carbon Fuel Tanks and comprehensive Fuel Tank sets for selected BMW and Ducati models.

  • Complete replacement of the original Fuel Tank
  • Model-specific carbon constructions
  • Versions with larger fuel capacity
  • Retention of selected original fuel components
  • Premium tanks from Ilmberger CarbonParts and SpeedCarbon

A complete carbon Fuel Tank must be clearly distinguished from a tank cover. A tank cover only covers or replaces an outer panel, while the products in this collection actually contain fuel and take over the function of the original Fuel Tank.

Larger Fuel Capacity for Longer Rides

The Ilmberger CarbonParts Adventure Tank Set for the BMW M1000XR increases the fuel capacity to approximately 26 liters. The set consists of the complete Fuel Tank and the necessary carbon side panels that integrate the larger shape into the motorcycle.

A larger Fuel Tank can increase the range but also affects the total weight and weight distribution when full. Keep this in mind when maneuvering and adjusting the suspension for traveling with luggage.

Complete Carbon Replacement for Ducati Monster

For selected Ducati Monster models, a SpeedCarbon Fuel Tank is available that fully replaces the original plastic Fuel Tank. The construction is designed for reuse of the original fuel pump, fuel level sensor, and suitable original or aftermarket fuel cap.

Carefully check whether your Monster version originally uses the correct plastic Fuel Tank construction. Different Fuel Tanks, pumps, and connections may occur within the same model name.

Fuel Resistance and Sealing

A Fuel Tank must be resistant to gasoline, vapors, temperature differences, and mechanical stress during riding. Use only a Fuel Tank explicitly developed as a fuel tank for the specific motorcycle model.

Before installation, check all sealing surfaces, hoses, fittings, and vent connections. Use new gaskets and O-rings when prescribed.

Installation of Pump and Level Sensor

The fuel pump and level sensor must be transferred cleanly and without tension. Prevent dirt, fibers, or old gasket residues from entering the new Fuel Tank.

After installation, first check for leaks with a limited amount of fuel. Inspect the flange, fuel cap, hose connections, and quick couplings before fully assembling the motorcycle.

Professional Installation Recommended

Work on a Fuel Tank requires a well-ventilated area free of fire, sparks, or other ignition sources. Fuel vapors are highly flammable.

Due to fuel resistance, sealing, and safety-critical installation, we recommend having a complete replacement carried out by an experienced motorcycle specialist.
