Carbon Rear Wheel

Carbon Rear Wheels – Maximum Acceleration, Grip, and Exclusivity

Reduce the rotating and unsprung mass at one of the most critical points of your motorcycle

A carbon rear wheel is much more than an exclusive visual upgrade. The rear wheel must be brought up to speed with every acceleration and is continuously controlled by the rear suspension. By saving weight here, the motorcycle can respond faster to throttle input and the rear wheel can follow the road surface more precisely.

  • Approximately 40–60% lighter than many original wheels, depending on the application
  • Faster acceleration and more direct throttle response
  • Less unsprung mass for better functioning rear suspension
  • More control and traction during acceleration out of corners
  • Model-specific BST carbon rear wheels available in multiple designs and finishes

In this collection, you will find individual carbon rear wheels from BST BlackStoneTek. They are intended for riders who want to specifically improve the performance and appearance of their motorcycle without immediately installing a complete front and rear wheel set. This can be interesting for sporty street use, track motorcycles, drag racing, and exclusive custom builds.

Why a lighter rear wheel can make such a difference

The weight of a wheel counts twice: as unsprung mass and as rotating mass. A lighter rear wheel requires less effort to get up to speed during acceleration. This allows more of the available engine power to be used to propel the motorcycle forward.

The rear suspension also benefits. A lighter wheel can react faster to bumps and other irregularities. This allows the tire to maintain better contact with the asphalt, contributing to traction, stability, and confidence when exiting corners. How big the difference is depends on the weight of the original wheel, the chosen BST version, and the overall configuration of the motorcycle.

Prepreg carbon and monocoque construction

BST produces its motorcycle wheels from prepreg carbon that is cured under controlled conditions in an autoclave. The rim and hollow spokes form a strong monocoque construction. Aluminium parts around the hub and mounting points ensure a precise, model-specific fit.

Within the range, various spoke designs are available, including Rapid TEK, Mamba TEK, and Star TEK. Depending on the version, you can choose from Twill or Forged carbon, combined with a glossy or satin clear coat. Additionally, transparent color coatings are available that keep the carbon structure visible.

Check what you need for installation

A BST rear wheel is developed for a specific motorcycle, version, and model year. Nevertheless, always check which parts are included and which original parts need to be transferred. Depending on the application, a specific sprocket carrier, brake disc carrier, rear sprocket, ABS ring, or other mounting materials may be required.

Optionally, ceramic wheel bearings and matching SuperSprox rear sprockets are available for various versions. It is recommended to have the wheel installed by a motorcycle specialist experienced with carbon wheels and always use the prescribed torque settings.

Approval and use

BST carbon wheels come with DOT E- and JWL approval and are tested according to TÜV standards. However, this does not mean that every wheel has a specific TÜV, ABE, or European E-type approval for use on public roads. Therefore, always check the requirements for your motorcycle and the country in which you ride.
