Brake Pads

Brake Pads for Reliable and Controllable Braking Performance

Replace worn brake pads on time and choose a compound that suits your motorcycle, brake system, and riding style

Brake pads convert the hydraulic pressure from the brake master cylinder and caliper into friction on the brake disc. The chosen compound partly determines how quickly the braking force builds up, the feel at the lever or pedal, and how the brakes respond to heat and wet conditions.

  • Model-specific brake pads for front and rear brakes
  • Sintered compounds for powerful and consistent braking performance
  • Suitable for daily, sporty, and touring street use
  • Versions with a high HH friction rating
  • High-quality brake pads from brands including EBC Brakes

In this collection, you will find brake pads for various motorcycles and brake calipers. The range includes EBC Double-H sintered brake pads. These are developed for riders seeking direct initial brake response, predictable modulation, and good performance in diverse weather conditions.

A more powerful compound is not automatically the best choice for every motorcycle. The brake disc, caliper, motorcycle weight, and usage must match the chosen brake pads.

Sintered and Organic Brake Pads

Sintered brake pads are manufactured under high pressure and temperature from metal-containing friction material. They are highly resistant to heat and are widely used on modern street, touring, and sport motorcycles.

Organic brake pads have a different material composition and can provide a softer initial bite. Which compound is suitable depends on the brake disc and the recommendations of the brake pad and motorcycle manufacturer.

Check Front or Rear Brake and Number of Sets

Brake pads for the front and rear brakes often have different shapes and compounds. Always check the mounting position and the exact part number.

For a motorcycle with two front brake calipers, usually one brake pad set per caliper is needed. Check the delivery contents before ordering to ensure you have enough sets to replace both sides simultaneously.

When Should Brake Pads Be Replaced?

Regularly check the remaining thickness of the friction material. Do not wait until the metal backing plate contacts the brake disc. This can reduce braking effectiveness and severely damage the brake disc.

Uneven wear may indicate contaminated or sticking brake pistons, worn guide pins, or another malfunction in the brake caliper. Resolve the cause before installing new brake pads.

Bed-in and Safe Installation

Carefully clean the brake caliper and inspect the brake disc for wear, grooves, and minimum thickness. Do not touch the friction material with greasy hands and avoid contact with oil, chain spray, or cleaning agents.

New brake pads must be properly bedded in so that pad and disc mate well. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and check braking performance before using the motorcycle normally. If in doubt, have brake system work performed by a motorcycle specialist.
