EJK Fuel Injection Tuning Module – Smart fuel management for your motorcycle

Why choose the EJK Tuning Module?

  • Immediately noticeable difference in smoothness and throttle response
  • Load-based tuning (RATE + TPS + RPM) for natural riding behavior
  • Plug & Play – stage 1 base setting, no laptop or dyno needed

EJK Fuel Controller: more riding pleasure in 10 minutes

Recognize this? Your engine stalls at low revs, reacts jerkily to throttle, or feels lean after installing a sport exhaust or air filter. You know there’s more potential, but an expensive ECU flash or dyno tuning is too much.

The EJK Fuel Injection Tuning Module solves this. Developed by the former Dynojet engineer (Mark Dobeck is the founder of DynoJet and PowerCommander, and later developed the EJK under his own name Dobeck Performance), this fuel module combines ease of use with affordable performance. You adjust it with three buttons on the module (MODE, PLUS, MINUS) – adjustable on-the-fly. Note: for safety, always turn off before making adjustments.

What makes the EJK unique?

⚡ Immediate smoothness and power

You’ll feel the difference immediately after connection. Throttle response becomes smoother, the engine pulls stronger, and stalling at low revs disappears. Ideal with a sport exhaust or when the standard mapping runs too lean.

🤝 Load-Based fuel controller (RATE, TPS, RPM)

Where many controllers only work on RPM and throttle position, the EJK also uses the RATE (how quickly you open the throttle). This way, the engine delivers real-time exactly the right amount of fuel, matching your riding style and conditions.

📈 Affordable alternative to ECU flash

An ECU flash costs €300–700 and is permanent. A Power Commander is often more expensive and complex. The EJK is more affordable, delivers immediate results, and keeps your original ECU and mapping intact. The module can always be removed.

Who is the EJK intended for?

  • Riders with an open exhaust or sport air filter
  • For those who want more smoothness without ECU flash or dyno
  • For anyone who wants to adjust themselves – without a laptop or garage visit

Installation usually takes minutes. Each controller is pre-programmed with a stage 1 base setting per application. After your test ride, you can fine-tune based on your setup and preferences.

Technical explanation: how does the EJK Tuning Module work?

The EJK works with three zones (Green, Yellow, Red) where you can adjust the fuel supply yourself. There is a difference between the generations here:

  • Gen 3 – originally developed for the American market, where mainly low-octane fuel is used. This version can only add fuel. Ideal for tuning lean-running engines richer.
  • Gen 3.5 – specially designed for the European market, tuned for Euro 95 and Euro 98 fuels. This version can both add and remove fuel (ADD/PULL). This allows you to correct overly rich mixtures and make an almost stock configuration fit your exhaust or filter exactly.

Thanks to this flexibility, the Gen 3.5 is the most complete option for European motorcycles: more control, more refinement, and always a setup that perfectly matches your riding style and engine configuration.

On-the-fly tuning, no dyno required

Real-world tuning often works just as well or even better than a lab setting. Thanks to the clear zones and the MODE/PLUS/MINUS interface, you can easily adjust on the go (safely while stationary). No computer needed. Optional software (POWERLAB) exists to reprogram the controller, but most users don’t need it.

Integrates with the stock ECU

The EJK is placed between the ECU and injectors and acts as a smart “translator.” The original ECU software remains untouched, no error codes are triggered, and you can always revert to stock.

Why don’t engines run optimally by default?

Factory settings are a compromise between emission standards, noise limits, and fuel consumption. This can come at the expense of smoothness and driving pleasure. The well-known ‘environmental dip’ – a dip in the midrange – is an example of this.

The EJK targets exactly those zones, so your engine runs the way you want: smooth, powerful, and controlled.

The correct order for tuning

  1. Start with the EJK – optimize the mixture on your current engine.
  2. Then add upgrades (exhaust or filter) and recalibrate the module.
  3. Or combine these all at once, starting with the EJK.

This prevents a lean-running engine, excessive heat, backfiring, or unstable idling. With the EJK, your engine runs stronger, cooler, and safer.

Important specifications & warranty

  • Water-resistant hardware (not 100% waterproof); continues to function in rain and washing.
  • 2 years warranty on material and manufacturing defects (manufacturer).
  • Do not: cut wires or use any dielectric grease in connectors (warranty void).
  • OEM warranty: the EJK does not change the stock ECU. If in doubt, consult your dealer/importer about local warranty conditions. The dealer/importer may not void the warranty on the entire engine.
  • Compact size: approx. 2.2" × 3.4" × 0.5" (≈ 56 × 86 × 13 mm).
  • More than 11 million map combinations (11,390,625) accessible without a computer.

Conclusion: EJK = the smart tuning upgrade

Want to get more out of your engine without risks and without expensive dyno sessions? The EJK Fuel Injection Tuning Module is an affordable, safe, and immediately noticeable upgrade. Your engine runs smoother, stronger, and more consistently – tuned to your riding style and always reversible to stock.

In short: the EJK brings out the best version of your engine. No fantasy power at the top, but real gains you can feel – on every ride, every corner, every time you twist the throttle.

Do you have an open exhaust and/or modified air filter? Then the EJK is the alternative to an ECU flash – smarter, safer, and more affordable.

How to read and use the EJK? – The basics explained

The EJK is designed to work as simply as possible. No complicated software, no laptop – just three buttons and an LED display. Once you understand the basics, you can make adjustments yourself within seconds.

The three basic steps

  1. Understand the LED display – the lights show which zone or mode you are in.
  2. Recognize the light settings – the blinking LEDs tell you which mode is active.
  3. Adjust the modes – with the MODE, PLUS, and MINUS buttons you can directly adjust the fuel.

The LED display explained

  • Start-up: when turned on, you see the green LEDs briefly “scroll” – a sign that the unit is working.
  • Zones active:
    • Green = cruise / light load
    • Yellow = acceleration
    • Red = full throttle
The more LEDs light up, the higher the engine load. You can adjust directly in each zone.
  • No active zone: 1 green LED blinks slowly – the engine does not require fuel correction (for example, at idle).
  • Blue LED: optional functions (such as Accelerator Pump or Turbo/Boost) – this varies per engine.
  • No signal: green blinking LED on the left + red on the right = no injector signal. You sometimes see this when you let off the throttle or if a connection is loose.

Working with light settings

The EJK uses 15 light levels per zone. You recognize these by the blinking pattern:

  • Whole numbers (e.g., 2, 3, 4) → one LED blinks.
  • Half steps (0.5) → two LEDs blink side by side. The blinking rhythm is faster to distinguish this.

Example: GRN-2, YEL-3.5, RED-5 means: Green zone = setting 2, Yellow = setting 3.5, Red = setting 5.

How to adjust the EJK

  1. MODE button → cycle through the available zones (green, yellow, red, and any extras).
  2. PLUS (+) button → add more fuel.
  3. MINUS (–) button → reduce fuel.

If you don’t press any button for a few seconds, the module automatically saves the chosen setting and returns to normal operation.

Practical example

  • You’re cruising at 80 km/h → LEDs light up green. Want to ride more economically? Lower the green zone by one step.
  • You’re at full throttle → LEDs light up red. Want more punch? Raise the red zone by half a step.
  • When accelerating → LEDs light up yellow. Think it still hesitates a bit? Increase yellow by one step.

Why so simple?

Instead of complex software with thousands of parameters, the EJK translates everything into clear lights and simple buttons. This allows every rider to adjust the settings themselves – on the road or at home in the garage.

And remember: every unit comes pre-set with a safe stage 1 mapping. Fine-tuning is only needed if your engine has specific modifications (different exhaust, filter, etc.).

The history behind EJK: from Dynojet to Dobeck Performance

The EJK Tuning Module doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. Behind this product is the knowledge and experience of Mark Dobeck – the founder of Dynojet Research, known for the world-famous PowerCommander and the first motorcycle dynamometers.

From racer to inventor

In the ’70s, Dobeck started as a tuner and rider in the American racing scene. He built a reputation tuning carburetors, which even factory teams struggled with. To test faster and safer, he developed a dynamometer with his father. This led to Dynojet Research – a name now synonymous with performance tuning.

Dynojet and the Power Commander

Dynojet grew rapidly. Their dynamometers became the standard in the racing world, even in NASCAR. In the ’90s, the company took another big step: the introduction of the PowerCommander, a piggyback fuel controller for fuel-injected engines. This made it possible to fine-tune engines in detail via ECU signals – something revolutionary at the time.

The transition to Dobeck Performance

After internal differences, Mark Dobeck left Dynojet in the late ’90s. He founded Dobeck Performance in Montana, where he refocused on accessible tuning for the motorcyclist. His vision: no complicated software, but a system you could adjust yourself – quickly, easily, and on the go.

The birth of the Electronic Jet Kit (EJK)

With that approach, Dobeck developed the EJK – Electronic Jet Kit. While the Power Commander worked with complex software, the EJK aimed to be a much more user-friendly alternative: adjustable with buttons and LEDs, no laptop, no dyno. The idea behind the name was clear: just like a carburetor jet kit used to be, but for modern fuel-injected engines.

Gen 3 vs. Gen 3.5

The EJK comes in two generations:

  • Gen 3 – developed for the American market, focused on low-octane fuels. This version can only add fuel and is intended to enrich lean-running engines.
  • Gen 3.5 – designed for the European market, where we run on Euro 95 or 98. This version can both add and remove fuel (ADD/PULL), allowing even overly rich mixtures to be corrected. For Euro-spec engines, this is the most versatile choice.

Why this story matters

As a motorcyclist, you benefit today from more than 40 years of experience in tuning and motorsports. The EJK is not just any aftermarket gadget, but the result of a tradition of innovation that began with the first dynamometer, through the Power Commander, up to this smart plug & play fuel controller. With the EJK, you literally bring the knowledge of Dobeck Performance and the Dynojet legacy into your home – and into your bike.
