Ducati Hypermotard V2 – back to raw emotion, forward in technology

Surprising news at EICMA 2025: Ducati did not present a new DesertX with the expected 890cc engine, but a completely new Hypermotard V2. The popular 950 makes way for a brand-new model that shares the 890cc V2 engine with the Monster, Streetfighter V2, and Panigale V2. The result is a lighter, sharper, and even more characterful Hypermotard that once again pushes the limits of pure riding experience.

Design: recognizable, yet completely new

The styling of the new Hypermotard V2 harks back to the glory days of the Hypermotard 1100. The front with the characteristic air intakes is a direct reference to the original design, while the side panels and sleek lines remain true to Ducati’s sporty DNA. The rear combines influences from the 950 with modern details from the Panigale V4 series – including the beautiful single-sided swingarm that is now standard.

The result is a motorcycle that looks classic but performs modern. Raw, compact, and full of energy – exactly how a Hypermotard should be.

The 890cc V2 engine: power with character

Under the fairing lies Ducati’s latest 890cc Testastretta V2. This engine delivers not only more power and torque than the old 950 but does so with more finesse. Thanks to optimized mapping, less weight, and improved balance, the V2 is more responsive than ever. The well-known aggressive throttle response remains, but with a smoother power delivery that makes the bike more accessible – without sacrificing adrenaline.

Panigale technology in a Hypermotard package

Ducati has equipped the new Hypermotard V2 with the single-sided swingarm known from the Panigale series. This is not only for design reasons but also for improved stability and precision in cornering. The geometry and seating position are tuned for maximum agility, exactly what you expect from a bike made to attack corners and pull wheelies – with style.

Accessories from CNC Racing and Evotech Performance

As always, Ducati leaves room for personalization, and GeGShop is ready with the first upgrades. CNC Racing has confirmed that their existing engine covers fit directly on the new V2. Additionally, Evotech Performance is working on a complete range of accessories, including:

  • Crash Protectors and wheel guards
  • Compact license plate holder
  • Radiator and oil cooler covers
  • Bar-end mirrors and lever protectors

Expect a full range of upgrades in the coming months that will make the Hypermotard V2 even lighter, tighter, and more individual – exactly what the true enthusiast is looking for.
