Bar-End Weights for Reduced Vibrations and a Neat Finish
Neatly finish the ends of the motorcycle handlebars and choose a weight that suits the bike, the handlebars, and the intended use
Bar-End Weights close off the ends of the handlebars and add mass to the handlebar structure. Depending on the design, this extra mass can help reduce certain high-frequency vibrations transmitted to the grips. At the same time, the bar-end weights form a visible detail that can be matched to other accessories around the cockpit.
- Model-specific and Universal bar-end weight sets
- Road, Race, and Touring versions available
- Stainless steel and aluminum constructions for different applications
- Compatible with selected bar-end mirrors and lever protectors
- Versions from Evotech Performance, Lightech, and CNC Racing
In this collection, you will find various types of bar-end weights. The model-specific Evotech Performance sets come with mounting materials tailored to the original handlebar construction. CNC Racing and Lightech also offer different designs and color combinations for a more distinctive finish.
A bar-end weight should not be chosen solely based on appearance. The mounting, length, diameter, and combination with existing accessories must be technically correct.
Road, Race, and Touring Versions
Evotech Performance offers different sizes and weight classes. A Road version is aimed at daily and sporty street use and adds extra mass to the handlebars on suitable models. More compact Race versions emphasize a small and lightweight construction.
Touring versions are intended for riders who value comfort and a refined handlebar finish during longer rides. The exact dimensions and mass vary per model-specific set.
Universal Bar-End Weights and Adapters
Universally offered bar-end weights often use expansion adapters for different handlebar inner diameters. For example, CNC Racing supplies multiple adapter sizes with selected sets, allowing the product to be combined with various hollow handlebars.
Check the free inner diameter and depth of the handlebars. An inner diameter can be locally smaller due to welds, internal threads, or the construction of the original bar-end weight.
Combining with Mirrors and Lever Protectors
Bar-end mirrors and brake or clutch lever protectors often use the same mounting point as the bar-end weight. Therefore, not every individual bar-end weight can be combined with every mirror or protector.
When building a combined setup, choose parts that are technically developed to work together. Check whether adapters, spacers, and longer bolts are included.
Vibrations Have Multiple Causes
Bar-end weights can influence certain vibration frequencies but do not solve technical defects. Strong or suddenly changed vibrations can also be caused by tires, wheel balance, engine mounts, bearings, or an irregularly running engine.
Check the engine if vibrations clearly increase. A lighter aftermarket bar-end weight may also feel different than a heavy original one.
Installation and Inspection
Install both sides according to the product-specific instructions and use the correct adapters. After installation, check that the throttle and grips move freely.
The throttle should return independently after release. Recheck the fastenings after the first ride and replace damaged expansion parts or bolts after a fall.
