Side Fairing

Side Fairings for Weight Reduction and Styling

The side fairing largely determines the shape and appearance of a motorcycle. The fairing section connects to the front, tank, and lower fairing, shielding various technical components. In this collection, you will find side fairings for repair, replacement, circuit use, and sporty customization.

  • Replaces damaged or worn original fairing parts
  • Defines much of the motorcycle’s appearance
  • Model-specific shape and mounting points
  • Available in various materials and finishes
  • Suitable for street, custom, and circuit-focused projects

An Important Part of the Fairing

The side fairing usually runs along the engine block and forms the connection between different fairing parts. This component contributes to a closed, aerodynamic shape and protects components from direct dirt spray and wind while riding.

The exact shape varies by motorcycle type. On a fully faired sportbike, the side fairing is usually large and enclosed, while on other models it may be more compact or consist of several separate parts.

For Replacement or a Complete Customization

After a fall or slide, a side fairing can be damaged by scratches, cracks, or broken mounting points. A replacement fairing part allows you to restore the motorcycle neatly without having to replace the entire fairing set immediately.

Side fairings are also used in custom projects and circuit motorcycles. Depending on the chosen material, they can be delivered unpainted and may still need to be prepared, fitted, and finished.

Model-Specific Fit

The mounting points, ventilation openings, and connections to other fairing parts must match exactly. Always choose a side fairing for the correct model, year, and side of the motorcycle.

Also pay attention to differences between standard models and special editions. Modified exhausts, radiators, lower fairings, or air ducts can affect the available space.

Plastic, Fibreglass, and Carbon

Original and replacement side fairings are often made from ABS plastic. This material is suitable for street use and can be painted depending on the version. Fibreglass is widely used for race fairings and is relatively easy to repair.

Carbon side fairings combine low weight with a high-quality appearance. Always check whether the part is a full replacement fairing or mounted as a cover over the original part.

Installation and Alignment

First loosely install a side fairing and check the fit with surrounding parts before tightening all fasteners. This allows the part to be aligned correctly without putting stress on the material.

Where necessary, reuse original rubbers, spacers, and clips or replace them if damaged. After installation, check that the side fairing maintains sufficient clearance from hot exhaust parts and moving components.
