Carbon crash bar protectors for BMW R1300GS
Protect and personalize the original crash bars with model-specific carbon covers from Ilmberger CarbonParts
Crash bars are located on the outside of the motorcycle and are therefore susceptible to stone chips, boots, luggage, and minor contact damage. A carbon crash bar protector is mounted around a selected section of the original tube construction and simultaneously gives the Adventure motorcycle an exclusive carbon finish.
- Model-specific for BMW R1300GS and R1300GS Adventure
- For mounting on suitable original crash bars
- Left and right sides available separately
- Traditional carbon and Black Diamond Carbon
- Matte and glossy finishes available
In this collection, you will find Ilmberger CarbonParts crash bar protectors for various versions of the BMW R1300GS and R1300GS Adventure. The range includes versions that visually match Trophy, Triple Black, and Option 719 models, among others.
Always check which side is offered. A product with “left” or “right” in the title does not automatically include a complete set for both sides.
Cover for the existing crash bar
A crash bar protector does not replace the metal crash bar. The carbon part is mounted on or around the existing tube construction and forms an additional outer layer.
Therefore, the cover is only suitable when the motorcycle is equipped with the crash bar for which the part is shaped. A different original or aftermarket tube diameter can affect the fit.
Prepreg carbon from the autoclave
Ilmberger CarbonParts manufactures the covers from prepreg carbon that is cured under controlled pressure and temperature in the autoclave. This allows for a lightweight, shape-retaining construction with precise fit.
The protective surface finish highlights the carbon pattern and helps protect the material against normal weather influences and UV exposure.
Traditional carbon or Black Diamond Carbon
Traditional carbon has a recognizable woven pattern. Black Diamond Carbon has a more irregular, marbled appearance that resembles forged carbon more closely.
Both types of carbon are available in matte or glossy finishes depending on the item. Preferably combine the same texture and gloss level with adjacent frame, tank, and engine covers.
CrashProtection has practical limits
A carbon cover can help protect the metal crash bar against light scratches, stone chips, and superficial wear marks. However, the part is not a replacement for the structural protective function of the steel crash bar.
In a heavy fall, both the carbon cover and the underlying crash bar can be damaged. Always check both parts after contact.
Stress-free installation
Clean the crash bar before placing the cover and use only the supplied or prescribed fasteners. Install the carbon without forcing it to the tube shape.
After installation, check that the cover does not rub against the tank, fairing, or other accessories anywhere. Regularly inspect the fasteners, especially after off-road riding or a fall.
