Replace the standard plastic underside of the tail section with carbon or a model-specific complete rear assembly
The undertail or undertray forms the visible underside of the tail section. The part is located between the taillight, seat, and rear wheel, and conceals wiring, electronics, and mounting points. A high-quality replacement gives the rear a cleaner and more cohesive appearance.
In this collection, you will find both simple carbon covers and larger undertail constructions. The scope of delivery and function therefore vary greatly per product.
A carbon undertray usually replaces the original plastic panel under the tail section. The shape fits around the shock absorber, taillight unit, and side panels.
On suitable models, the undertray can be combined with the original colored side panels or additional carbon tail parts.
A larger Ermax undertail can change the entire shape of the rear. Depending on the product, mounting materials and LED license plate lighting are included.
Turn signals may be required separately. Also check whether the original license plate holder is removed and which mounting is used for the license plate.
Not every undertray includes a license plate holder. Many carbon parts still require a separate short license plate holder.
Check the combination with the taillight, turn signals, and license plate lighting. The wiring must be protected and kept clear of the rear tire and exhaust.
The distance to the rear tire must be checked with fully compressed rear suspension. Take into account the mounted tire size and any changes to ride height or suspension.
A license plate, cable, or mounting bolt must never be able to touch the rear wheel.
Install carbon undertrays without tension and use the original or supplied rubbers, clips, and spacers. Check the fit around the taillight and side panels before fully tightening all bolts.
