Replace a standard plastic or metal heat shield with a model-specific carbon version around the muffler and exhaust bends
The exhaust system is located in a very visible spot and reaches high temperatures while riding. An exhaust heat shield protects selected parts of the hot exhaust and simultaneously serves as an important design element. With a carbon version, you give this technical area a lighter and more exclusive look.
In this collection, you will find different types of exhaust heat shields. Some products replace an original cover on the end muffler. Other parts are mounted around the exhaust bends or catalytic converter area and shield a larger portion of the system.
Always check which exhaust system the part is developed for. A cover for the original muffler does not automatically fit an Akrapovic, SC-Project, HP Corse, or other aftermarket system.
A muffler heat shield is usually mounted on the outside of the end muffler or link pipe. The part follows the shape of the exhaust and replaces the original plastic, aluminum, or carbon cover on suitable motorcycles.
A heat shield for exhaust bends extends further forward and can cover multiple hot pipe sections. The mounting points and clearance around the engine, fairing, and rider’s leg position are model-specific.
The shape of an exhaust system changes when a different muffler, link pipe, decat, or complete bend set is installed. This may also require a different heat shield.
Therefore, check the full product title, motorcycle model, year of manufacture, and the specified exhaust configuration. Some covers are only suitable for one specific Akrapovic or other aftermarket muffler.
For a cohesive result, you can combine the exhaust heat shield with a carbon rear fender, heel plates, belly pan, and engine covers. Preferably choose the same carbon structure and gloss level.
For Ducati models, Ilmberger CarbonParts matches the pattern and finish to the look of Ducati Performance carbon. Depending on the product, you can choose from matte, glossy, or Black Diamond Carbon.
Use all prescribed spacers, heat shield rings, and fasteners. The carbon must not be clamped directly and without the prescribed clearance against a hot exhaust part.
After installation, check the clearance around the fairing, cables, brake lines, and the rider’s boot. Allow the motorcycle to cool completely before installing, removing, or inspecting the heat shield.
