Reduce unwanted rear wheel hopping or locking with a clutch that controlledly releases opposing engine torque
During aggressive downshifting, the engine speed may temporarily not match the rear wheel speed. This creates a large opposing torque in the drivetrain. A slipper clutch, also called an anti-hop clutch, is designed to controlledly release part of this load.
In this collection, you will find EVR slipper clutches for various Ducati models and engines. Depending on the product, it may be a direct replacement of the original clutch core, a complete set with clutch basket and plates, or an extensive conversion kit from a wet to a dry clutch.
Always check the scope of delivery. A separate slipper clutch core may be intended for use with the existing basket and plates, while a complete 48-tooth set contains technically matching components.
During normal acceleration, the clutch fully compresses the plate pack and transfers engine torque to the gearbox. When strongly engine braking, the slipper function can temporarily reduce pressure on the plate pack.
This allows the drivetrain to controlledly absorb part of the opposing torque. It does not replace proper downshifting technique but can give the bike more calmness and stability during sporty riding.
A dry clutch runs outside the engine oil and has a different construction than a wet clutch. Therefore, choose only a slipper clutch developed for the existing system and engine.
For selected Ducati models, complete dry clutch conversion kits are also available. Such a conversion is significantly more extensive than just replacing the clutch core and requires all technically matching components.
Complete sets can be supplied with organic or sintered friction plates. The right choice depends on the clutch, usage, and EVR specifications. Sintered plates are not automatically the best choice for every street bike.
Also check whether the set uses an original 12-tooth or EVR 48-tooth clutch construction. Plate pack, basket, and core must have the same tooth count and dimensions.
The total thickness of the plate pack, spring configuration, assembly order, and tightening torques determine the function. An incorrectly assembled clutch can slip, disengage poorly, or shift unnecessarily hard.
After installation, check free play, engagement point, and slipper function. If in doubt, have selection, installation, and adjustment performed by a specialist experienced with Ducati and EVR clutches.
