Brake Pumps and Clutch Pumps for Maximum Control

Upgrade the hydraulic control of your brake or clutch with a radial pump that fits your motorcycle and complete system

The brake pump converts the force on the brake lever into hydraulic pressure for the front brake calipers. A hydraulic clutch pump does the same for clutch operation. The diameter, lever ratio, and internal construction partly determine how much lever movement, pressure, and feel the system provides.

  • Radial brake and clutch pumps from Brembo
  • RCS system with adjustable lever ratio
  • Direct and precise feel at the lever
  • Versions for sporty street and track use
  • Matching reservoir brackets and mounting parts available

In this collection, you will find Brembo RCS brake pumps and clutch pumps. RCS stands for Ratio Click System. With this system, the mechanical lever ratio can be adjusted on suitable models, allowing you to choose between a more direct control or a more progressive feel.

A brake pump and clutch pump may look very similar externally but are not technically interchangeable. The piston diameter, connections, internal seals, and application are tailored to the system in which the pump is used.

The Right Diameter and Lever Ratio

The diameter of the master piston must match the number and diameter of the brake pistons or the clutch pressure piston used. A larger pump diameter moves more fluid with the same lever movement but can change the lever feel and required hand force.

Therefore, do not automatically choose the largest available pump. Check which version Brembo or the motorcycle manufacturer recommends for the existing brake calipers, brake lines, and clutch construction.

External Brake Fluid Reservoir

Many radial Brembo pumps are used with an external fluid reservoir. The reservoir, mounting bracket, and fluid hose are not included with every pump and may be needed separately.

Also check whether a brake light switch, clutch switch, or banjo bolt with integrated switch is required. This is especially important when the original switch cannot be directly transferred to the aftermarket pump.

Compatibility with Levers and Accessories

A different brake or clutch pump can affect the mounting of handguards, mirrors, lever protectors, and remote adjusters. For selected motorcycles, special brackets are available that allow original handguards or a fluid reservoir to be retained.

Also check the connection and angle of the brake line. The line must not be twisted, kinked, or pulled tight at maximum steering lock.

Installation and Bleeding

After installation, the system must be completely filled with the prescribed fluid and carefully bled. Check all connections for leaks and ensure a firm and consistent pressure point.

A brake pump is a safety-critical component. Have the selection, installation, and adjustment performed by a specialist if you lack sufficient experience, and thoroughly test the braking performance before using the motorcycle normally.
