Also replace the dampening rubbers immediately when the clutch drum is opened
The clutch core is an essential part of the original dry clutch used in various Ducati models. After years of use, the grooves engaged by the steel intermediate plates can wear or become dented. This creates additional play and can prevent the plates from moving freely over the core. This may become noticeable in clutch operation, uneven engagement, and increased mechanical play in the complete clutch assembly.
With this replacement clutch core, you restore the original fit between the core and the steel intermediate plates. The current part number is 19610012B. This version replaces the older Ducati part numbers 19610011A and 19610011B.
The connection between the drive and the gearbox
In the dry Ducati clutch, the lined clutch plates engage with the clutch basket using their outer tabs. The steel intermediate plates engage with their 37 teeth in the 37 corresponding grooves of this clutch core.
When the plate pack is compressed by the pressure plate and clutch springs, the lined and steel plates create the connection between the drive from the engine block and the gearbox. Wear or damage to the core's grooves therefore directly affects the fit and operation of the plate pack.
Also replace the dampening rubbers
This clutch core forms the upper part of the clutch drum. Rubber vibration dampers are located between this core and the base plate. These rubbers absorb play, vibrations, and load fluctuations within the clutch drum.
Over time, the dampening rubbers can harden, shrink, or wear out. This creates additional movement between the core and the base plate, making the load less effectively dampened. Since the clutch drum must be opened to replace the core anyway, we strongly recommend installing new dampening rubbers at the same time. This way, you will not install the new core onto old, worn rubbers, and the clutch drum will be carefully rebuilt in one go.

Frequently asked questions
When should the clutch hub be replaced?
Replacement is advisable when the grooves are visibly dented or worn, when there is excessive play, or when the steel plates can no longer move freely over the hub.
Which plates engage with this clutch hub?
The steel plates engage with the 37 grooves in the hub using their 37 teeth. The friction plates engage with the clutch basket using their outer tabs.
Why do the cushion rubbers need to be replaced?
The rubbers sit between the base plate and this hub and dampen movement and load changes in the clutch drum. Old rubbers can become hard, shrink, or wear out. Since the drum has to be opened for this repair anyway, this is the logical time to replace them.
Are the cushion rubbers included?
No, the cushion rubbers are available separately. We recommend ordering them at the same time.
Does part number 19610012B fit if my Ducati uses 19610011A or 19610011B?
Yes, 19610012B is the current part number and replaces both 19610011A and 19610011B.
Does this hub fit every Ducati with a dry clutch?
This hub fits all Ducati models with a dry clutch from model year 1990 through 2013, except for the models and versions listed above. If in doubt, check the model year and the number of the installed clutch hub.
