Timing Belt Covers for Protection and an Exclusive Engine Finish
Replace the standard covers with model-specific carbon or CNC-machined timing belt covers
The timing belts are essential components of various Ducati engines. They are shielded by covers that help prevent dirt and unwanted contact. Since these covers are clearly visible on the outside of the engine, they also offer an excellent opportunity to change the motorcycle’s appearance.
- Model-specific covers for different Ducati engines
- Protects the timing belt area from dirt and direct contact
- Available in carbon and CNC-machined aluminum versions
- Horizontal, vertical, and complete cover sets available
- Versions from CNC Racing and Ilmberger CarbonParts
This collection includes various types of timing belt covers. There are full carbon covers that replace the original black plastic covers, as well as CNC-machined versions with transparent windows that keep parts of the timing system visible.
The available shape depends on the engine. Different Ducati V-twins use a horizontal and a vertical timing belt cover. These can be offered separately or as a complete set. Always carefully check which parts are included with the product.
Carbon or CNC-machined aluminum
Carbon timing belt covers are mainly chosen for their low weight and high-quality appearance. The versions from Ilmberger CarbonParts and CNC Racing replace the original plastic and are available in a matte or glossy finish depending on the product.
Additionally, there are CNC Racing covers made of machined aluminum, including versions with plexiglass or another transparent window. This gives the engine a mechanical and distinctive look while keeping part of the timing system visible.
For Ducati models, the carbon finishes from Ilmberger CarbonParts match the pattern and appearance of Ducati Performance carbon. Preferably choose the same finish as the other carbon parts on the motorcycle.
A visible part that is regularly removed
Timing belt covers must be removable during belt maintenance. A good fit and sturdy mounting points are therefore important. Several Ilmberger versions use aluminum inserts around the bolt holes so that the mounting points withstand repeated removal and installation.
An open or transparent cover does not change the importance of timely timing belt maintenance. The belts themselves must always be checked and replaced according to the prescribed maintenance schedule.
Check engine and model year
Ducati has used different engines, cylinder heads, and timing constructions over the years. A cover for a two-valve engine will therefore not automatically fit another Ducati with a similar displacement.
Check the exact model, model year, engine type, and whether you need a horizontal, vertical, or complete set. Install the covers without tension and use the prescribed tightening torque. Ensure the timing belts and moving parts run completely free.
