The tank uses the original fuel pump and float units. Please note: in some cases, minimal modification may be required during installation. Installation by a qualified mechanic according to the official Harley-Davidson service manual is recommended.
Does this tank also fit models from before 2021?
As far as we know, it fits 2009+ Touring (FLH) models, including Street Glide (FLHX/S), Road Glide (FLTRX/S), and Electra Glide (FLHT), but not Road King (FLHR) models. If in doubt, contact us. On earlier models, mounting points and pump configuration may differ.
Is this tank also suitable for Road King models?
No, this tank is not compatible with Road King models due to the different tank cover and frame shape.
Can I continue using my original fuel pump?
Yes, this tank is designed to accommodate OEM fuel pump and float assemblies. In some cases, minor modification is required.
Can I use this tank with racing fuel?
Not with oxygenated racing fuels such as VP MR12. This tank is perfectly suitable for standard premium gasoline.
Are there color or finish options?
Yes, the BST tank can be customized according to your preferences in both finish and color. They are supplied as standard in classic Twill woven carbon, with a transparent coating that beautifully accentuates the depth of the carbon weave. For those looking for something unique, an exclusive Forged Carbon version is also available - recognizable by its marbled look with more organic lines.
There are three possible surface finishes: gloss, matte, or satin (silk gloss / semi-gloss). Each finish highlights the carbon in a different way - from bold and glossy to understated and tactile. The standard color is 'Black', meaning carbon with a transparent clear coat, but for extra character you can choose a tinted coating in Gold, Red, Green, Blue, or even a striking Chameleon finish, in which the carbon changes color depending on the angle of the light.
In all cases, an ink coating is used, keeping the structure of the carbon weave clearly visible while adding extra depth and an attractive color.
